More foreclosure data was released today. One in every 45 U.S. housing units was the subject of a foreclosure filing in 2010, a year in which a total of 3,825,637 such filings were recorded. With this many foreclosures in play and the bank releasing their inventory of houses after they had review the foreclosure papers. More houses will be on the market coming this Spring. Thereby, inadvertently driving the housing sales price down even further. Some people are predicting the real estate prices will drop another 5% this year before bottoming out.

This year will be a good time to buy a home if you are waiting to find a home or finding the right investment property for cheap. Here is what Bank of America is offering today on a 30 years fixed rate. At 4.875% with a 0.75 point buy down.
